The curvature of our 9-watt molded lenses, combined with the prismatic effect, refracts the light for wide-angle area lighting and better illumination with fewer shadows. The lens material is acrylic, not polystyrene, so heat will not cause any problems with discoloring or making it brittle — i.e., for over the stove in the galley.
